DIGGING DEEP 49 Topic: The Royal Priesthood – Part 3

INTRODUCTION: In the first two parts of our study on the Royal Priesthood, we have learnt that all born again Christians are priest and kings to God. A chosen set of people sharing the responsibilities and blessing of Christ. As royal priests, we are actually the power behind the throne operating spiritual laws that are superior to the physical laws or any land. Last week, we concluded that we can influence every affairs of our land by using our authority to bind and loose. This week, we want to see how priests and priestesses of old changed the course of history of their lands.

The Men we shall study are:

a) Moses – Num. 14:11-21, Deut. 9:24-29, Exodus 32:30-32, Exodus 33:1-3, 12-17
b) Nehemiah – Nehemiah 1:1-11, Nehemiah 2:9-10
c) Daniel – Daniel 9:1-24
d) Samuel – I Samuel 15:10-11, I Samuel 12:23
e) Deborah – Judges 4:1-9, Judges 5:20-21
f) Esther – Esther 4:10, 5:3, other include
g) Hezekiah – II Chronicles 30:13-20,
h) Ezra –

Each priest/priestess identified himself/herself with the sins and inquities of His/Her people and prayer a self-sacrificing prayer that moved God to action.

CONCLUSION: Their God is our God, Hebrews 13:8, therefore what they did, we can do also: we can alter the course of history of our Nation. The question is, “Are we ready to pay the price’?
